History

General Refrigeration, Heating and Air Conditioning was started in 1942 by Edward O’Sullivan and is now owned and operated by his grandson Terry O’Sullivan.   

Since its early days of manufacturing and installing,  General has evolved into one of the most respected refrigeration, heating, and air conditioning companies in Ontario.  The O’Sullivan family’s third generation leader guides General for the present day and into the future.  Terry continues to uphold General’s dedication, commitment and sustained improvement in customer service.  “My grandfather founded this company with a commitment to providing locally based service to his community.  I am here to ensure we uphold his vision where the customer is our first and only priority.”   

Terry has had the unique opportunity of being in the HVACR industry his entire life.  While playing in the shop that was attached to the family home before his school years, to family dinners with both grandfathers that were competitors in the HVACR industry.  Terry’s grandfather Charles Turner on his mother’s side worked as a technician until his retirement at age 72.  

Terry continues to uphold General’s commitment to community and service serving on local boards and was the past president of Refrigeration Service Engineering Society.  He is also a proud member of his company’s charitable team who is dedicated to supporting several local charities.
